Taking a breath for winter solstice

This Saturday marks the winter solstice - the shortest day and the longest night of the year.

It’s a quiet turning point. A gentle pause in the wheel of the seasons. A moment that invites us to breathe deeply, honour the stillness, and find beauty in the dark.

We often rush through winter, trying to push through the cold and the quiet. But solstice asks us to do the opposite. To lean in. To slow down. To tend to ourselves in the way we most need.

Maybe that looks like lighting a candle and journaling. Maybe it’s closing your laptop a little earlier, or putting your phone on silent. Maybe it’s simply making a cup of tea and letting yourself just be for a few minutes.

Whatever it is - the winter solstice is your invitation to breathe.

Let the stillness hold you. Let the pause ground you. Let yourself feel the turning of the season.

Because light is coming. And this moment of rest? It’s part of the cycle. Wishing you a soft, nourishing solstice.
