A season of review: What winter teaches you about looking back
Winter has always been a quieter season. The days feel slower, the nights stretch longer, and life often pulls us inward. And while that can sometimes feel heavy, it also gives us a gift: the chance to pause and reflect. Looking back is not about dwelling on the past. It’s about noticing. Taking stock of what’s shifted, what you’ve carried, and what you’re ready to leave behind.
This winter may have taught you:
- That rest isn’t wasted time, it’s necessary fuel
- That some days call for softening, not striving
- That slowing down helps you hear yourself more clearly
- That slowing down helps you hear yourself more clearly
Reflection can be simple. You might ask yourself:
- What felt grounding this winter?
- What was heavier than it needed to be?
- What was heavier than it needed to be?
- What do I want to carry into the next season and what do I want to release?
Like the trees that shed their leaves, winter teaches us that letting go is part of moving forward.
So, this week:
As the new season approaches, take a moment to look back. Honour what this winter held, and step into spring feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to yourself.
