A note from future you

Feelings: Feel hopeful, feel calm, feel free.

Time required: 20 to 30 minutes.

What you’ll need: A pen and the page opposite this.

ABOUT THE RITUAL

We don’t often stop to ask ourselves: What kind of life am I building?

Not the big, dramatic version - but the real one. The one made up of the tiny choices, habits, thoughts and rhythms in your everyday. The one that future you lives in.

This ritual is your chance to imagine that future - not with pressure or perfection, but with curiosity. Who is that version of you? How do they feel? What have they let go of? What have they made space for? And importantly, what can I do to start living this way now?

Think of this as a conversation with the version of you who’s just a little further along - someone you’re already becoming.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Picture a future version of you. Not a perfect version - just a more ‘you’ version. Someone who feels grounded, at ease, and in tune with what matters. Let your mind wander into their everyday life — what it looks like, how it feels, what they’ve made space for.

  2. Turn the page and begin writing - you’ll find four prompts below to help guide your thoughts. Don’t overthink it. This isn’t about writing something impressive - it’s just about being honest with yourself.

  3. When you’re done, sit with what you wrote. What stood out? What surprised you? What felt exciting or calming or true? If you feel called to, ask yourself: What’s one small step I could take today to move a little closer to this version of me?

PROMPTS

Describe a day in the life of your future self.
What does their morning feel like? What kind of energy carries them through the day? What do they make time for?

What has this version of you let go of?
Think about old habits, beliefs, or stories they no longer carry - the things they’ve made peace with or moved on from.

What brings this version of you joy, calm or a sense of purpose?
What lights them up? What feels meaningful or nourishing in their life right now?

What do they know or trust now that you’re still learning?
What wisdom have they gained? What feels easier or more certain in their world?
