We all know the saying "you are what you eat," and when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle it truly does come down to the foods we choose. You might even notice on days you eat well your mood is elevated, your skin is glowing and your gut is feeling great!
So when the Beauty Bites arrived in the RY office, we were so excited to dig in to these healthy treats and we can assure you they did not last long!
Beauty Bites are Australia's first fully functional beauty snack and use 5 clinically proven ingredients to help with the signs of ageing, so we just had to sit down with Keira Rumble, owner of Krumbled to ask her all about her business and the beauty secrets behind these yummy bars.
What inspired you to start your company and when did you start it?
My inspiration came from my own personal experience of not being able to find a healthy snack that was low sugar, natural and actually tasted delicious. So many “healthy brands” on the market are loaded full of sugar and hidden sugars, cheap fillers accompanied by big marketing budgets. So, I think my biggest inspiration was to create a health food brand that was actually healthy yet still delicious.
What would an ‘average day in the life of’ look like for you?
I have a morning routine which I really try and stick to, this helps me to clear my mind and focus on my tasks for the day. I normally try and get up earlier than my partner. I love to start my morning off by dry body brushing, have a shower, pop essential oils on + my skincare routine, followed by meditating. By that time my partner has woken up so we take our sausage dogs for their morning walk. From there – no day is the same! Depending if I have meetings in the city, Skype calls, shoots or product development meetings etc etc will determine my day. If I am not in meetings, I am normally working from home.
How do you make your products?
Alongside my team of food technicians, nutritionists and willing taste testers! All of our products take at least 12 months (if not longer) to develop.
What is your favourite way to enjoy your Beauty Bites?
In the morning, with my coffee! Our Beauty Bites have so many wonderful functional ingredients in them, so they act as my replacement for my probiotics, vitamins and collagen powder.
What experiences lead to the values you have instilled in your company?
I think our number one value is to have a health food company that is actually healthy.
If you weren’t running Krumbled, what would you be doing?
I honestly can’t think of anything else I would be doing! This was my vision for my future!
What is your favourite way of winding down and taking time out?
Cooking or going for a big walk with my dogs along the beach.
