If you wake up and remember one thing each day, make it that you, yes you, get to be an active participant in your own life. You are both the main character and the director.
What does this mean? Well, it means that you get to make the decisions, you get to set the big motions in play, and you even get to decide what they are.
You can often get so lost in the daily grind of life that you don't even realise you've relinquished autonomy. You might forget that you have the power to change the habit or switch up the routine. Of course, habit and routine have their place. But a life full of the same habits and routines doesn't create a life that allows for great potential. You've stopped participating in the narrative of your own life; instead, you are just along for the ride.
Think about this. Consider the fact that living is a verb. You are completing an act. Intentionally. Yes, of course, you breathe unconsciously, and your body functions in so many incredible ways unconsciously. But that doesn't mean you need to completely live unconsciously. In fact, the very opposite is true, live consciously. Live with excitement, with passion, and with intent.
You hold the key to your power; you have the pen with which to write your own script. So allow yourself that big plot twist, that massive dream you've always imagined. Try to write in something new everyday. Nothing is too big or too small. You are the director; you get to choose what plays a role in your life.
