The winter solstice is a good time to check in with yourself

Tonight is the longest night of the year, and from here the days slowly start getting longer. The Solstice is the oldest turning point in the calendar, and it's a good moment to pause, reflect on what's passed, and think about what you want the next six months to look like.

The year has probably asked quite a lot of you already. So it's worth lifting your head up and asking honestly: how am I actually going?

If you've got a quiet twenty minutes and a warm drink, here are some questions worth sitting with.

A quick check-in first:

Before anything else, just notice where you're at. How are you actually feeling, physically? Tired? Rundown? Surprisingly okay? What has your body been trying to tell you that you've been too busy to hear? And how are you going emotionally? Winter flattens things out for a lot of people. Some feel quieter, a bit low. Others feel relieved by the slower pace. Neither is wrong, just notice.

Reflection questions:

~ What's been weighing on you this season?

~ What are you tired of carrying?

~ What has this year asked of you that you haven't acknowledged?

~ What has actually felt good?

~ What do you want more of in the second half of the year?

~ What are you ready to let go of?

The second half of the year is ahead of you, and it doesn't need to look a certain way; it just needs to feel a bit more like you.

From here, more light. Happy solstice.

With love,
Kate & the RY team x
