The Perfect Formula

The Perfect Formula

The Mary Grace Bulgarian Rose Otto Face Elixir is a little bottle of gold and has so many of the properties and benefits of a multi-product daily routine, which is why we chose to feature it in our Autumn Box.

On the surface, it looks and smells luxurious, is packaged beautifully and feels incredible on the skin. But it's what it actually does to your skin that packs the biggest punch. So we wanted to share a little more about this high performance oil.

With no fillers and no chemicals, this Face Elixir is combined with wheat germ, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Rosehip Oil to nourish the face, replenish the skin and leave you feeling incredible.

It can be used as a serum on clean, dry skin, can be mixed with your favourite cream, used to blend cosmetics or as a make-up remover.

It's also handy for anyone who may experience eczema as it helps to soothe and heal the skin and return it to its former glory. Aka, it is INCREDIBLE on sensitive skin (founder, Mary, has highly sensitive skin herself, and she swears by it).

Let’s break down the ingredients and take a good look inside:

Soya Bean Oil

High in Vitamin E, Soya Bean Oil may aid in retaining moisture in the skin, reducing inflammation, restoring flexibility to the surface area, diminishing wrinkles and reversing sun damage. It may also help in tightening and firming the skin, which can visibly reduce sagging.

Wheat Germ Oil

An incredible cocktail of Vitamins E, D, A, B, antioxidants and fatty acids. Applied topically to the skin, this incredible oil can help reduce skin damage, help form healthy collagen which evens and tightens the skin and fights free radicals. It’s also a fantastic face cleanser, known to remove excess sebum which can create other skin ailments such as acne, pimples, etc. It’s also great for helping to reduce the visibility of scars and marks on the skin.

Sweet Almond Oil

Rich in Vitamin E and Vitamin A, this potent beauty may aid in keeping skin cells healthy, protecting against UV radiation damage, healing irritated skin and reducing acne. It’s also rich in Vitamin A, fatty acids, protein, potassium and zinc. It can help lighten dark circles under the eye, relieve eczema, rashes and sun damage and is perfect for removing makeup!

Jojoba Oil

Long used for its incredible benefits, Jojoba oil is one of nature's best gifts. Known for its anti inflammatory properties, jojoba oil is also fantastic for long lasting moisturisation, is deeply hydrating and is nutritious for the skin. High in Vitamin E, B, antioxidants, chromium, copper and zinc as well as it’s anti-microbial properties which help to prevent the growth of bacteria on the skin and is great for healing wounds.

Vitamin C

Rich in antioxidants, Vitamin C helps to treat UV damage, encourage collagen development and inhibits melanin production - which prevents skin discolouration and dark spots. It also helps to reduce brown spots whilst enhancing normal skin pigmentation and aids in keeping the skin plump and firm. Vitamin C may also aid in preventing the premature ageing of skin.

Vitamin E

Along with all of the other amazing ingredients in this face elixir, we’ve added pure Vitamin E to enhance them! It’s easily absorbed by the skin and applying it topically may increase the amount of Vitamin E stored within the sebaceous glands. It helps to reduce the speed in which facial products applied to the skin dissipate when exposed to UV light-  making anything you put on your face naturally last longer and is fantastic for reducing acute and chronic skin damage caused by UV rays.

Rosehip Oil
Also rich in Vitamin A, Rosehip Oil is fantastic for reducing visible signs of ageing, dark spots, wrinkles and inflammation. It contains molecules that are so small, they can penetrate deep into the layers of your skin, heightening its effects. It improves skin moisture, collagen levels, brightening and evening out skin tone, exfoliating the skin, reducing scars and helping to fight against acne.

Bulgarian Rose Otto Essential Oil

Traditional Bulgarian Rose Otto is considered the finest of all rose oils. Sourced from The Valley of the Roses, located in Central Bulgaria which has been established for over 300 years. The oil is water distilled to protect their essence and the petals are picked in the early hours of the morning to maximise the oil content then placed into a large vat of water and heated to release the natural oils. Known for its beautifying properties, Rose Otto Essential Oil is great for helping the skin appear younger, diminishing the signs of aging and slowing free radical damage. It’s great for all skin types, especially sensitive skin and dry or mature skin. Increasing the natural glow, it helps with broken capillaries and scars as well as eczema and other skin issues. On a deeper level, Rose oil aids in purifying skin and pulling toxins out of its outer layers. It has strong antibacterial properties and adds a deeper level of moisture to any product.

And how do you use it?

Mary Grace have shared the ways in which you can use the Face Elixir, however  as all of us here at RY use it daily, we wanted to share a few ways in which we - as regular consumers! - use it:

  • As a night & day combined serum & moisturiser - means 24/7 plump & hydrated skin
  • In the evening, after the usual serums, and before a night cream - for an extra hydration boost
  • As part of an AM routine before makeup - it gives a dewy, hydrated finish once foundation/mineral powder has been applied on top

Mary Grace have so kindly shared a discount code so you can purchase or re-purchase the Rose Otto Face Elixir (in the case of those of you who received it in the Autumn Box!), plus it also provides 20% off the ENTIRE Mary Grace website (including their candles, diffusers, body care & makeup ranges).
