How to use
Apply shampoo to wet hair, later and rinse. Follow with Aromapure Conditioner, applying to wet hair and leaving for 1-3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

About this brand
Empire Australia came to be in 2014, a collaboration between two people who have a long history in the Australian cosmetic, bath and body industry. Two people who have combined their skills to create, what they believe, are simply beautiful, contemporary, well- designed products that we all just love to use. One, a graphic designer who specialises in packaging design, the other, an operations and logistics expert who brings the product designers’ dreams to reality. They live in and love Melbourne, buy their packaging from local suppliers wherever possible, have their labels printed in Australia and their products are formulated in a Melbourne laboratory. They are then made available at a realistic price for everyone to enjoy.

The shampoo and conditioner both smell great without being overpowering. It’s not the best with my particular hair chemistry, the shampoo strips my hair a bit more than I’d love though the conditioner does a good job of rectifying that, but it’s perfect for my husband’s hair, it leaves it feeling light and soft and the cedar and lavender is a nicely androgynous scent, he loves it.
The Retreat Yourself customer experience has been fantastic and I was pleasantly surprised when I received my box. It even included a couple of little freebies that I wasn’t expecting so that was a real treat.
That said, I’ve been asked to review one specific product being the Empire Australia essential oil shampoo and conditioner for dry and damaged hair.
Unfortunately I have to say that I’ve been slightly disappointed with one particular product - Though the packaging is really nice and the fragrance is beautiful, I find it’s leaving my hair feeling heavy, dull and looking a bit greasy. I have fine blonde hair that is quite dry and damaged at the ends so I ordered the product specifically designed for dry & damaged hair. Perhaps next time I’ll try the “normal hair” variety and see if this is better suited.
All in all I must say that I’m a happy customer and I will be ordering a variety of different products again through Retreat Yourself.
I gifted my mum a Retreat yourself box with this conditioner and the matching shampoo inside. Mum loved this brand so much that this is the second time she’s asked for a refill. She has fine hair and finds it hard to find a natural product that doesn’t leave her hair heavy and greasy. She also loves how gentle this is on her hair and how subtle the fragrance is. Will definitely be back for more :)
