Remember, it's okay to take it at your own pace.

Remember, it's okay to take it at your own pace.

Well, it's official, lockdown has lifted across the country! It absolutely causes for celebration; it's time to lean into the excitement of making plans and looking forward to Christmas.

But if for you all of that excitement is also laced with a thread of anxiety, know that is entirely okay; it's normal even.

Your life was turned completely upside down, and you've spent the last two years getting used to it, only for it all to go back to normal. A normal you aren't quite accustomed to anymore.

So if you don't mind yourself going out multiple times a week like you used to. That's okay. If you'd rather go somewhere quiet over somewhere crowded. That's okay. If you'd still rather spend time at home. That's okay.

This period will be an adjustment, and realistically, you aren't the same person you were before, so the way your life looks is going to change too. Take it all at your own pace. Run your own race. Make plans you want to make, and don't feel pressured to do it all, all at once.

Over the last two years, you've spent time honing and crafting your coping mechanisms, you know what self-care recharges you the most, and now is not the time to let it all go. Hold onto those rituals; they've become part of your make-up; they'll hold you steady, keep you energised and grounded as we move into the festive season.

Remember, the world around you might be moving fast, but you don't have to. Take your life at the pace that you enjoy.
