The founder of Aurelia Alchemy, Hannah Ehrbar, has been working in the field of Kinesiology for 10 years and holds a deep wealth of knowledge about the modality... We knew you'd be intrigued, so of course we picked her brain for you.
So what is Kenesiology? Here's a little definition...
Kinesiology, as defined by the Australian Kinesiology Association, is a modality that combines Western techniques and Eastern wisdom to promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Kinesiology identifies the elements which inhibit the body’s natural internal energies and helps us to access the life enhancing potential that we all hold within.
But what does that really mean?
In general Kinesiology is used as a label for any modality that utilises muscle monitoring as a tool to explore the subconscious and subtle bodies and assist in discovering where stressors and trauma reside in the body.
Wait stop, what's muscle monitoring?
There are cells, called spindle cells, in each muscle that allow the muscle to hold a certain position when a low force, from a practitioner's hand, is applied. When there is stress in the system those cells do not hold the position, practitioners trained in Kinesiology can feel this and are able to use it as an indicator to gather information from the body and subconscious.
Okay, back to what this all means...
Muscle monitoring allows the practitioner to determine which tools would be most beneficial for an individual to help clear those stressors and trigger the body’s innate self healing abilities to bring all systems back into balance. Balancing the system can also include nutritional support, acupressure, sound therapy, gentle chiropractic techniques and more!
What are the benefits of Kinesiology?
The comprehensive systems and protocols of Kinesiology truly approach the wellbeing of every client in a holistic way. It gives them insight to what is going on within their systems, while also providing them strategies and techniques to support themselves move forward in a more positive way.
When clients of Kinesiology release the stress they had been holding in their physical, mental and emotional bodies, they often people find they no longer have physical restrictions or pain. They also experience more positive behaviours, thought processes, feelings and relationships.

Kinesiology can create remarkable shift for people that are in the midst of life changing crisis as well as those that have no real issue at hand, but feel a little out of sorts or stagnant and unable to step into the flow of life.
